Our Mission : Helplife Foundation’s main purpose is to make safe water easily accessible to the poor communities of Somalia. Helplife Foundation is doing whatever possible to save lives by providing drinkable water.
Clean Water
Across Somalia, unpredictable rainfall patterns, ongoing conflict, and lack of maintenance of water sources and supply systems has resulted in only 45 per cent of the population having access to improved water sources and only a quarter of the population with improved sanitation facilities within 10 metres.
Education
After more than two decades of conflict, a generation of Somali children lost the opportunity for formal education and other benefits of a stable childhood. Somalia has one of the world’s lowest enrolment rates for primary school-aged children – only 30 per cent of children are in school and only 40 per cent of these are girls. Further, only 18 per cent of children in rural households are in school.
Relief Programs
The humanitarian situation in Somalia is rapidly deteriorating and renewed famine is a strong possibility in 2017. Out of 12.3 million Somalis, over half (6.2 million) are acutely food insecure and in need of humanitarian assistance. Hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people are on the move in search of food, water and treatment for malnutrition and diseases.
